The original intent was to publish this post on Halloween, but apparently I had so many other brilliant things to say here, it got forgotten.
I haven't bought mums very often; I forget how much impact they can have. And I'm all about impact. It's my new drug.
They're certainly impactful. I've never seen such colour in crysanthemums before. They look great.

I'm for naything that extends the blooming/growing season and with this much color why NOT mums? They kind of sneak up on you in the garden over the summer and then show off while everything else is giving up, although my giant hollyhocks are doing their share still. I love the fall colors or burgundy gold, burnt orange, and that dusky purpleish pink. Yay mums!

It's so funny seeing Chrysanthemums always referred to as Mums, which they never are here. Do you go into a shop and say that you'd like to buy some mums?

Hi Susan,
Just took some time to look through the photos in the "my garden" section, and I'm so impressed. You've done a fabulous job. I especially like the "dry streambed and border" and "into the woods" photos. Lovely!

Thanks, HP. And I just briefly perused your site and it's eye candy, too. I'll be following you over there.
