No, I'm not going anywhere. Just the name. Time to take this blog and DO something with it, namely, use it to supplement Sustainable-Gardening.com. The "beyond" is my excuse to go off-topic occasionally, coz I just like to.
No need for readers to change their link to this blog; I'll keep the Takoma Gardener domain name. Newcomers can use www.beyondsustainablegardening.com.
Well this explains how you can add another newsworthy page to your prolific gardening rants and resources! Takoma Gardener has been on my Google homepage for 15 months and I marvel at your capacity for writing (and coaching and supporting and promoting everything garden-related) after spending the best hours of the day evidently working in your garden. Thank you -- you write beautifully and generously about your passion for color, tilth or texture in the surroundings.
I have to add, I just wish you would consider publicizing at least one other local design/coaching service in the DC metro area -- it is a big town, with lots and lots of neglected garden space! I have a BS in Natural Resources which I'm finally using in a practical way d/b/a A New Leaf - Garden Design & Restoration. I discovered your Takoma Gardener blog a while ago and you have been immensely helpful to us as well as the public (worldwide!) about the need for sharing the wisdom of our experience and encouragement as coaches. My business partner and I started as volunteers eleven years ago in our kids' elementary school, restoring a neglected courtyard -- got a grant and over a hundred donated perennials for a four-season garden -- and we've collaborated ever since on n'hood and community garden projects. If you'd feel more comfortable after seeing our gardens, or meeting us in person, please let me know. We'd love to appeal to you enough to make room for another local listing....there are multiple listings for coaches in other cities, why not metro DC?
Whatever the case, we'll keep subscribing to Sustainable Gardening. Your humor, grit and tenacity inspire us in every way.

For some reason I get a "The page you have requested is unavailable on this server" message when I click on the Beyond Sustainable Gardening link.

Congrats on the new site - just catching up on my blog reading now. I explored it a bit and signed up for the monthly newsletter. Eager to see it - when is the first issue? Or did I miss it already?
